Born in Mexico, Kari de Koenigswarter now divides her time between her home in Glen Lyon and her studio in Edinburgh. She frequently travels to England, France and the United States.

She studied at Edinburgh College of Art and Leith School of Art, printmaking at Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre and Edinburgh Printmakers. She received the Scott-Kestin Wildlife Award and has exhibited at:
